The most fundamental concept of democracy is the idea that government exists to secure the rights of the people, and must be based on the consent of the governed – and that is us. We must demonstrate that we believe that our community, and our fellow Americans, are worth standing up for.
Elections should represent the will of the people. When politicians are allowed to draw their own maps, they manipulate the system to keep themselves in power. We need to make the process of drawing voting maps be fair and transparent, so that our government is “of, by and for the people.”
Our freedom, our liberty depends upon three fundamental elements: a free press; free speech; and free and fair elections. Remove any one of the three, and America will no longer be the “land of the free”.

Fighting for the right to vote is the STORY OF AMERICA. The right to vote is the most fundamental right because every issue that people care about – local, national, world – is affected by the actions of elected politicians.
North Carolina Lawmakers have proposed amending NC’s constitution to require a yet-to-be determined type of ID for all future elections – and then letting the politicians decide what kinds of ID are allowed. Basically, that means that these politicians want to be able to pick and choose who gets to vote.
You MUST vote in 2018. Voting is the gateway to every other issue, and any change you may want to see in your community, your state, or your country.
